Maria A. Cahill


Maria A. Cahill has been a civil trial lawyer for over 15 years. She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in English with highest honors from Charter Oak College in 1997, and graduated Cum Laude from Quinnipiac University School of Law in 2000.

While at Quinnipiac, Attorney Cahill was the recipient of many awards including the Arnold J. Bai award which is given to one student in the graduating class, selected by the law school faculty, who has demonstrated the most potential to become an outstanding litigator. Attorney Cahill was also the overall victor and best oral advocate in the law school’s Moot Court Competition and went on to compete nationally as a representative of the law school’s Moot Court team. Attorney Cahill was also president of the Public Interest Law Project and vice-president of the Criminal Law Society.

Attorney Cahill has extensive experience in civil litigation and has tried several cases to verdict throughout state courts in Connecticut. Attorney Cahill has also argued many appeals before the Appellate Court and Supreme Court of Connecticut. She also serves as an arbitrator for the New London Superior Court and has served as a mediator and arbitrator in private dispute resolutions.

Attorney Cahill is a member of the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association and the New Haven County Bar Association. She is admitted to practice in Connecticut, New York and the United States District Court for the District of Connecticut.

Attorney Cahill lives in Guilford with her spouse and their two rescue dogs. She is an avid supporter of various local animal rescue organizations.
